UK Central North Sea, Blocks 44/7, 8, 9 & 10 – Licence P2267
The Draco Complex covers Blocks 44/7, 8, 9 & 10 in the SNS adjacent to the Cygnus Gas Field, the largest UK gas discovery in the last 25 years. The eight (8) mapped prospects offer a combined resource potential >2TCF. The plays are Intra-Carboniferous closures and the source rocks are the Westphalian/Namurian coals and shales. A very meticulous Depth Conversion has been applied to the reprocessed 3D. Four of the main prospects have been mapped as structural closures in both Time and Depth with minimal effects of variations in overlying salt thickness. The mapped features range in Depth from 10,500’ to 14,000’ and the target reservoir sands are predicted to have moderate to good reservoir quality for gas. Water Depths are of the order of 75 feet and given the licence proximity to the Cygnus infrastructure, even relatively small gas resources should be economic.
